Loving her new paci friend
Hanging out on thebeach
We have had a busy couple of weeks with Zula's baptism and trip to Georgia to look for a new home. Zula did amazingly well with all the new people around holding her for her baptism and barely cried when the pastor put water on her head! It was such a blessing to know family near and far were rejoicing with us on her special day.
Our trip to Georgia went well and we met one of the other dentist and his wife who have a little boy four months older than Zula.  We clicked with them right away and are delighted that God has placed some new friends for us and Zula already!  We are still debating the right house so who knows where we will end up but we are excited about this next spot in our story.

A new normal

Sorry it has been a while since we have posted. Life definitely has been a new busy and a new tired but we are starting to reach a new functioning normal. Zula has started to sleep longer stretches which has helped us all feel better!  It's hard to believe how much she has changed over the past 7 weeks. She is now much more alert, looking around and holding her head up. And is now also starting to give us some smiles, which make us very happy!  We feel like we are starting to see more of her personality come out. Here are a few pictures of her from the past couple of weeks. The strawberry one is prob the best I have been able to get of her kinda smiling.

Zula Elizabeth has arrived

Well unlike what I earlier thought baby girl decided to make her appearance 2 days after her due date.  She arrived may 6 at 12:47 pm weighing 6 lbs 14 oz and 19 in long.  We have loved having her and couldn't imagine life without her and its only been a week!  Here are a few pictures from the week!

Nursery

Well I know it has been quite a while since we have put anything on here.  And since then Mike has completed dental school, we have moved to Gulfport, MS, and we are 9 months pregnant today with a little girl.  So after months of waiting and planning, Baby Girls room is finally complete.  Although it is a little cramped, being that it is combined with the guest room, we are both very pleased with it. I love that alot of the pictures and pieces have significance.  The painting above the chair is from one of the women I worked with down here, the wooden piece with her smocked dresses was in my nursery and room growing up, the sign on the door was at our church shower in Gulfport, and the bookcase was an old plant stand that we got for free from one of my best friends in Kentucky. We are planning to add her monogram above the changing table when we name her.  All we need is for Baby Girl to decide she is ready to meet us!

Baby Bear shoes has officially started!

I gave six pairs of my shoes to my friend to put in her store yesterday. I have named the company Baby Bear, by suggestion of my Father in honor of our nicknames :). The new ones will all have the bear paw symbol on the side but the first 4 I made do not have them. I am really excited about this opportunity and have even gotten a request for a monogrammed pair already. Here are the first six. I will be making another 6 to put at their other store and we will see how it all goes.
There is also a picture of the curtains I made for Mikes office. They don't look quite like I want them to, but I still love the fabric and the fringe

Girls Weekend in Kentucky
This past weekend my 3 best friends from college came up for a visit. It was so great to see them and to catch up on life. Its crazy to think we have been out of college for 3 years now and I miss all the fun times we had together. I really appreciated them making the drive up here and enjoyed getting to show them around Lexington and taking them to the horse races at Keeneland. Unfortunately I dont have any pics of them from their visit but they all love taking pictures so I am going to get some of theirs. I do have some great pics of Mike and I, since Rebecca is starting up a photography business and she so willingly did a session for Mike and I while she was here. We went to a historic house in our neighborhood, Ashland (the Henry Clay estate) to take the pictures. They turned out so great and I think I am going to get a little book made of them. It is nice to have some of this stage in our life at the half way point of our stay in Kentucky and after a couple years of marriage. Here are just a few of them.

The furniture has arrived and I absolutely love it. I think the rug just tied in better than I thought and the paint colors look great also. It is amazing what paint does to a room. I am hoping to get the dining room curtains done this weekend and they really help pull the rooms together. It still needs some work done, like I want to paint the little yellow table black and it needs some pictures and other odds and ends but I couldnt be happier with how it turned out. Here are a few pics but you all need to come visit and see it in person :)
